چکیده
We report spectropolarimetric observations of a supersonic downflow impacting the lower atmosphere within large sunspot umbra. This work is an extension Schad et al. using acquired in He i 10830 Å triplet by Facility Infrared Spectropolarimeter. Downflowing material accelerating along cooled coronal loop reaches peak speeds near 200 km s−1 and exhibits both high speed emission absorption umbra, which we determine to be consequence strong height dependence radiatively controlled source function above Strong profiles close rest wavelengths but with long redshifted tails are also observed at terminus. From polarized spectra, infer longitudinal magnetic field strengths ∼2.4 kG core portion emission, believe strongest ever reported this line. Photospheric same line sight ∼2.8 as inferred Ca 10839 spectral The temperatures highest near-rest similar (∼10 kK), while differential measure analysis Solar Dynamics Observatory/Atmospheric Imaging Assembly data indicates significant increases radiative cooling for between ∼0.5 1 MK plasma associated Combined interpret these context shock induced low atmosphere.

Plasma Ejections from a Light Bridge in a Sunspot Umbra
We present conspicuous activities of plasma ejections along a light bridge of a stable and mature sunspot in NOAA 8971 on 2000 May 02. We found the ejections both in the Hα (10 K) images obtained with the Domeless Solar Telescope (DST) at Hida Observatory, and in the 171 Å (Fe ix/x, ∼106 K) images obtained with the Transition Region and Coronal Explorer (TRACE). Main characteristics of the ejec...
متن کاملSupersonic Downflows in a Sunspot Light Bridge
We report the discovery of supersonic downflows in a sunspot light bridge using measurements taken with the spectropolarimeter on board the Hinode satellite. The downflows occur in small patches close to regions where the vector magnetic field changes orientation rapidly, and are associated with anomalous circular polarization profiles. An inversion of the observed Stokes spectra reveals veloci...
متن کاملA study on Ca II 854.2 nm emission in a sunspot umbra using a thin cloud model
In the present work, we introduce and explain a method of solution of the radiative transfer equation based on a thin cloud model. The efficiency of this method to retrieve dynamical chromospheric parameters from Stokes I profiles of Ca II 854.2 nm line showing spectral emission is investigated. The analyzed data were recorded with the Crisp Imaging Spectro-Polarimeter (CRISP) at Swedish 1-m So...
متن کاملThe dependence of the magnetic field strength of a sunspot umbra on its intensity and brightness temperature
A partial decrease of the convective energy by the magnetic field of a sunspot causes the temperature of the magnetized plasma to decrease and this leads to a magneto-hydrostatic equilibrium. Thus, we expect a strong relation between magnetic field strength of a sunspot and its temperature/brightness. Here, we investigate this relation in the umbra of the large sunspot in NOAA10930 using spectr...
متن کاملCoronal Mass Ejections from Sunspot and non-Sunspot Regions
Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) originate from closed magnetic field regions on the Sun, which are active regions and quiescent filament regions. The energetic populations such as halo CMEs, CMEs associated with magnetic clouds, geoeffective CMEs, CMEs associated with solar energetic particles and interplanetary type II radio bursts, and shock-driving CMEs have been found to originate from sunspo...
